From Cancun International Airport follow the Playa del Carmen - Riviera Maya signs, they will take you to the south, about 40 minutes later you'll get to Playa del Carmen, stay on the same road, just at the end of the city you'll see a big shopping center on your right side (Centro Maya, this is the last chance to get a big super-market, Banks and ATMs before getting to your hotel), drive for another 35km (22miles) from this point. You'll get to a bridge that takes you to Akumal Bay and town, stay on the road, and less than 1.5km (1 mile) after the bridge you'll see the entrance to your hotel on your left side.
